FOBU - FRIENDS OF BETHLEHEM UNIVERSITY
Friends of Bethlehem University, known as FoBU, was set up as a registered charity in 1999 in order to help the development of Bethlehem University and, in particular, to fund and support its Cardinal Basil Hume Chair for Religious Studies. The University was established in 1973 at the request of Pope Paul VI with the aim of offering higher education to Palestinians of all faiths. One of its major goals is to encourage students to remain in Palestine and serve the community after they have graduated. The courses offered are designed to provide them with the skills necessary to enable them to do so.
