Wider Horizons
Wider Horizons invite you to join us on a journey of encounter with people, cultures, and faiths. Travelling beyond the tourist sights of the Middle East, Africa and Asia, we visit local communities, and learn of their history, their culture, and the issues that affect their lives today. We especially seek to meet and share with local Christian communities of all denominations. We have a particular passion for Israel/Palestine and lead visits there annually.
Wherever we go, where possible we meet with community and religious leaders and our encounters seek to gain an insight into social, political and religious realities. Our journeys are not simply holidays, or just pilgrimages that 'visit the sights', but they are transformative encounters, by which participants are enriched and informed, and through which we also seek to benefit the communities we visitOpen Bethlehem is a civil society initiative established to respond to the state of emergency in Bethlehem as the wall is going up turning a city that resonates with millions of people around the world into a 21st century prison.
